Atlanta Retriever Club, Inc. is a
non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the training,
hunting, competing, and breeding of all AKC recognized retriever
breeds. Our club objectives are:
- Encourage the use of trained retrievers
while hunting, thereby preserving game;
- Encourage and promote the breeding of
pure-bred retrievers, and do all possible to bring their natural
qualities to perfection;
- Urge members and breeders to accept the
standards of the retriever breeds as approved by the American
Kennel Club as the only standards of excellence by which
retrievers shall be judged;
- Protect and advance the interest of the
retriever breeds by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at field
trials and hunt tests; and
- Conduct sanctioned and licensed field trials
and hunt tests under the rules and regulations of the American
Kennel Club.
Our club has a
very diverse membership of retriever enthusiasts, including field
trialers, hunt testers, breeders, professional trainers, and amateur
trainers and handlers. We are proud of the
accomplishments of our club members, many of which have qualified
and placed at National events and have attained multiple FC, AFC,
and MH titles. Almost all of our members came into the club as new
participants with a lot to learn. If you don’t happen to know a lot
about retrievers, that’s okay - we all started at some point,
knowing very little about the wonders of retrievers. We welcome
you, your family, and your retrievers!
